Art for Good
Mental Health Advocate

Blob has joined Art for Good as the official Mental Health Advocate since June, 2021. Started by sharing his mindfulness journey to promote mental well-being on social media, he has successfully gained children and parents' affection.

Recently, he has started sharing more of his thoughts, such as self love, green lifestyle, art tips, through quotes, comics and featuring more of his family and friends. Before joining Art for Good, Blob has been through a turmoil of depression. Yet, he came to our art therapist and learnt the way to understand his emotions better. Therefore, Blob believes that self-awareness and continuous personal development are the keys to good mental well-being.

Amanda Chen

Managing Director / Founder

Amanda is a certified and experienced Art Therapist (MA-AT 2015 Masters in Art Therapy) and Arts Educator (Registered with MOE-AMIS). She has been active and current in the social work scene for the past decade and has worked with many charities and social enterprises like Red Pencil, Student Advisory Centre (Children’s Wishing Well), Center Pottery, Habitat for Humanity Singapore and was the Former Deputy Director of Social Creatives.

She currently sits on the board as Honorary Secretary of the Rare Disorders Society of Singapore. She believes in the healing and therapeutic aspects of art and its many applications.

Prior, Amanda had been in the advertising industry for several years before starting her own branding and design agency that was running for more than 12 years. As the healing arts and the work of a therapist resonated so deeply with her, she decided to pursue her Masters in Art Therapy to become an Art Therapist. Amanda is the founder for Art for Good and believes that a lot of good can be done through art using the platform of a social enterprise.

Gabriel Lee

Business Development Manager

Gabriel’s passions have led him to become the General Manager of Art for Good. Transcending his love for photography, Gabriel is a CAAS certified Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Pilot, specialising in aerial photography and cinematography.

Over the past decade, he has worked with various profit and non-profit organisations such as GuruRealiti, the Catholic Church, the People’s Association, and online car magazine Revv-Motoring Singapore.

Gabriel finds passion and fulfilment in social work, with numerous years of experience in disaster response and humanitarian aid with Caritas Humanitarian Aid & Relief Initiatives, Singapore (CHARIS). He has led and organised mission teams to provide relief in countries such as Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka. During which, he has also worked with children with disabilities, people with financial difficulties and refugees of war and natural disasters. At Art for Good, Gabriel gets to combine his two passions, by doing good through art.

Alanis Seah

Assistant Manager

Alanis is an alumni of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts with a Diploma in Fine Arts, is known for her unwavering commitment to addressing critical societal issues. She uses her boundless creativity to create art that empowers, provokes introspection, and sparks meaningful dialogues on topics such as gender disparities, racial inequalities, mental health awareness, and neurodiversity. Alanis challenges conventional artistic themes in her pursuit of catalyzing positive change through her contributions to the arts.

Currently, Alanis is working part-time alongside Amanda and Gabriel at Art for Good. Their mission is to leverage the power of art to foster positive change within diverse communities. Together, they demonstrate how art can be a potent force for good in our world, channeling Alanis's expertise in art to provide professional art services and innovative creative products.

Amanda Chen

Senior Art Therapist / Supervisor

Amanda is a certified and experienced Art Therapist (MA-AT 2015 Masters in Art Therapy) and Arts Educator (Registered with MOE-AMIS), where her passion is in working with children, especially those with special needs and disabilities. She has been active and current in the social work scene for the past decade and has worked with many charities and social enterprises, and currently sits on the board as Honorary Secretary of the Rare Disorders Society of Singapore.

As the healing arts and the work of a therapist resonated so deeply with her, she decided to pursue her Masters in Art Therapy to become an Art Therapist. Amanda is the founder and key art therapist at Art for Good and believes that a lot of good can be done through art using the platform of a social enterprise. Daphna Arbell Kehila

Senior Art Therapist / Supervisor

Daphna Arbell Kehila has over 20 years’ experience as Expressive Arts Therapist. Daphna holds a PhD in Adult Education and a Master of Arts (MA) in Expressive Therapies from Lesley University in Cambridge Massachusetts. She also holds a master’s degree in Space Design from Musashino Art University in Tokyo, and a Master degree in Theatre Arts from Tel-Aviv University.

Daphna incorporates her experience as a qualified Yoga Therapy practitioner with creative work, to cultivate inner strength, support mental health and wellbeing; she dedicates her time to create, develop and conduct programs and workshops for various populations, supporting the process of personal development and growth of individuals and communities.

Living and working in Asia Pacific region for more than three decades, and as a permanent resident (PR) in Singapore since 2004, Daphna has a deep understanding of multicultural experiences. She is owner and director at West East Pte. Ltd, where she practices Expressive Arts Therapy and Yoga Therapy.

Wendy Yap

Senior Art Therapist

Wendy is a certified Art Therapist (2010) and Career Coach (NCDA, 2018). She is an associate faculty at Singapore University of Social Sciences and adjunct lecturer at Singapore Polytechnic.

Wendy enjoys working with people from all walks of life. To her, everyone has a story to tell and listening empathetically is the key to help people to open up. Through this approach, her clients have found a safe outlet to work through their personal challenges.

Apart from art and verbal therapy, Wendy is exploring to use of sports, pets and gardening to enhance the mental well-being of clients and the community at-large. She believes that being in touch with nature, animals and physical activities relax the mind and release happy hormones.

Kit Louis

Art Therapist

Kit, an accredited art psychotherapist with 11+ years of experience, provides a nurturing sanctuary for clients to rediscover their inner selves through art. Collaborating gently, she guides individuals in using art as a transformative tool to navigate life's challenges.

Specializing in diverse art therapy approaches, Kit warmly welcomes individuals of all genders, orientations, and ages. Her interventions, backed by a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, adapt to individual needs.

Previously assisting those with trauma and mental health challenges, Kit integrates art therapy into workshops and group sessions. Her practice also includes holistic healing techniques like reiki and Aroma Freedom Technique (AFT).

 

Natalie Kang

Art Therapist

Natalie holds a Master in Art Therapy (with Distinction; Lasalle Scholarship for MA Studies; The Red Pencil Scholarship) and is a registered instructor with MOE. As an art therapist, she believes firmly in the transformative power of art therapy in healing and expressing what words cannot, and is deeply passionate about working with children and youths.

Natalie has worked with children and youths with special needs, learning differences, trauma, and mental health issues within a variety of settings such as early intervention, schools, homes and residential care. In addition, she co-facilitated museum-based art therapy programmes for various groups of community-dwelling seniors and youths/ volunteer participants. She also led an arts-based volunteering group at the Institute of Mental Health, where she engaged individuals with mood disorders and young people with early psychosis.

Prior to pursuing art therapy, Natalie holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology (Nanyang Scholarship) and a Diploma in Child Psychology and Early Education (with merit; NP Academic Achievement Scholarship).

Teh Shan Li

Art Therapist

Shan Li is an art psychotherapist registered with ANZACATA. Apart from having a Master of Arts in Art Therapy (with Distinction) and training in mindfulness-informed facilitation, she also has experience providing case management for mental health populations within a psychiatric hospital and in community settings.
 
Practicing art therapy allowed her to integrate her interest in artistic expression with the knowledge she gained from her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology (Magna Cum Laude). She has facilitated numerous group and individual art psychotherapy sessions for at-risk students, neurodiverse children & adolescents, domestic workers, widows, inmates, older adults, and palliative care patients. She believes in holding an empathetic, reflective space for individuals to develop self-awareness and build their capabilities for self-compassion and self-acceptance.
 
Shirly Zhu

Art Therapist

Shirly is a certified Art Therapist by ANZACATA with a Master's in Art Therapy. With a diverse background living in China, Canada, and Singapore, Shirly is informed by a unique cross-cultural sensitivity that enables her to connect deeply with diverse groups of people.
 
Before embarking on her path as an Art Therapist, Shirly underwent training in multimedia arts. Fuelled by her passion for addressing psychosocial challenges, such as identity, relationships, perception, and inner conflicts, Shirly is dedicated to establishing immersive therapeutic environments accessible to all. Her commitment lies in providing spaces that foster healing and growth for the broader community. An unwavering advocate for social justice, women empowerment, and emotional healing work, Shirly's art therapy practice is rooted in a psychodynamic framework, employing a human-centric, trauma-informed, and mindfulness-based approach. Her experience spans working with children, youths, and adults, helping them navigate psychological concerns and find inner balance.
Gayatri Lele

Art Therapist

Gayatri is a Singapore-based art psychotherapist and artist. She received her MA in Art Therapy at LASALLE College of the Arts in 2022 after completing her BA in Fine Art from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2020. She holds a professional membership and is a registered Art Psychotherapist with ANZACATA.

Gayatri has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults with a range of different profiles, varying from Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, developmental disabilities, Down Syndrome and behavioral/emotional issues. She has also worked with parents through dyadic sessions with their children; to heal attachments, understand relational dynamics, and learn about one another's emotional needs.

In her work, Gayatri strives to support each individual to awaken their inner healer and learn to make choices in life that are true to their values, needs, and goals; through the magic of art-making. She offers a holistic approach that is person-centered for all her clients.

Goh Keat Leong

Nagomi Artist / Teacher

Goh Keat Leong grew up in a humble fishing village with an exceptional interest in drawing. As art lessons were considered an extravagance, he taught himself sketching and illustration.

In 2017, he chanced upon Pastel Nagomi Art. This simple form of art rekindled his long-lost desire in art creation, and he started his journey as a Pastel Nagomi Art instructor. Keat Leong believes that art is not just about drawing skills and creativity. Art can be a simple form of therapy that brings balance to people’s emotional harmony, and it should always be a part of our lives.

In 2019, he founded Zundeng Art based on his alias name, Zundeng. Zundeng Art is known for the willingness to share valuable and quality content openly and the stencils that he designed and created are widely used in many countries!

Herbert Julian

Photographer / Art Teacher

Julian is a photographer with more than a decade of experience, having worked in numerous projects internationally.

Julian is an individual who has truly followed his passion. Despite his personal struggles, he has worked his way up from the bottom and has successfully run his own studio called JWalking Studio since 2012. His personal life experiences and struggles have allowed him to deeply relate and resonate with the mission of Art for Good, making him one of the key players driving the organisation.

Peter Loh

Creative Consultant / Artist / Art Teacher

Peter was Amanda’s first art teacher, when she was 4 years old. Peter is a self-taught artist, cartoonist and graphic designer who has been doing freelance work and working in design houses for more than one and a half decades, creating a plethora of traditional and digital illustrations, logos and other graphic designs for hundreds of clients, from individuals to MNCs.

He has self-published a number of illustrated story books and also put his artistic skills to use in a string of educational books for various authors, both locally and in the US. On top of that, Peter has also conducted art lessons in schools and company offices, as well as in charities and non-profit organizations, like the Down Syndrome Association of Singapore.

Artist / Art Teacher

Soh Ee Shaun

Artist / Art Teacher

Soh Ee Shaun holds an MA in Fine Arts from Falmouth University in the UK. An artist-educator, as well as practitioner of meditation and Taijigong, Ee Shaun's interests lie in exploring the synergy between painting and mindfulness as forms of expression, and as tools for self-care and well-being. 

His current artistic practice lies in the convergence of abstract expressionism, minimalism, and colour field painting, investigating colours as structures of meditation for the viewer. He has been commissioned by international clients including Apple, Facebook, Adidas, Lacoste, Herman Miller, Disney and Shake Shack, and has participated in the 11th Venice Architecture Biennale, the Berlin Festival of Lights, the Singapore Design Festival, and iLight Marina Bay Sands. 

In 2012, he earned recognition as one of the 20 finalists for the prestigious Sovereign Asian Art Prize. He currently teaches at the School of the Arts, Singapore.

Swati Kollipara

Artist / Art Teacher

Swati Kollipara, has over 10+ years of experience in resin art. She began her career in Canada and continued expanding into custom art after moving to Singapore. She is a self-taught artist who has practised in Canada and Singapore. Swati has participated in many workshops in addition to training different age groups to acquire knowledge and also making themselves. She gained extensive knowledge of using various resin mediums on different surfaces and offers affordable art classes for individuals who are interested in pursuing this field.

As a professional instructor, she is well-versed in all types of techniques and materials used in completing resin art products, including combining resin with other mediums such as acrylic, crushed glass, texture paste, and real crystals. Swati has set up a home studio, Kristol Crafts, that provides a cozy and welcoming environment for participants to learn the art. In addition, she has collaborated with other similar organisations that share a passion for teaching art.

Pauline Lim

Artist / Art Teacher

Pauline is a dynamic NIE-trained educator specializing in English and Mathematics, driven by a profound belief in the transformative power of positive education. She ardently champions a holistic approach to learning, valuing academic excellence, character development, and student well-being. Walking the talk, she has been a volunteer tutor with Boys’ Town since 2021. Harnessing the creative potential of art, she ingeniously integrates it into her teaching methodologies, leveraging its therapeutic elements to address mathematical challenges while nurturing mental well-being.

With over a decade of rich experience straddling both education and Learning & Development domains, Pauline embodies a fervent commitment to pioneering innovative and impactful learning solutions. Her passion for pedagogical innovation is evident in her role as the founder and guiding force behind Curriculum Lab, an initiative aimed at spearheading digital transformation within the realm of learning and development.

Pauline's professional journey is characterized by her unwavering dedication to empowering learners, educators, and organizations to flourish amidst the ever-evolving landscape of the digital age. Through her visionary leadership and relentless pursuit of excellence, she continues to inspire positive change and catalyze growth across diverse educational settings

Aryan Arora

Creative Consultant / Artist / Performing Artist

Aryan Arora is a visual and performance artist from India, currently based in Singapore. Aryan graduates from Lasalle College of the Arts Singapore and holds a degree in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths University, United Kingdom.

Coming from a society that enforces ideals on individuals, Aryan seeks to find new perspectives through his art making to confront personal issues and the pressures of the society of today. His practice revolves around challenging societal norms to seek out the expression of the individual voice. He is currently exploring the medium of performance, and is a freelance artist working with murals and graffiti. Aryan believes that art is a means of communication and commentary, and is equally a source of healing and therapy for the heart and soul. In a society where true selves are often masked, Aryan’s works seek out a sense of freedom in expressing the real self and healing the wounds of the inner world.
