FAQ
Art for Good is a Social Enterprise registered with RAISE. A social enterprise or social business is defined as a business that has specific social objectives that serve its primary purpose. Social enterprises seek to maximize profits while maximizing benefits to society and the environment. Their profits are principally used to fund social programs.
While Social Enterprises need not necessarily be non-profit, most start ups usually operate in such a fashion. Art for Good is in the start up stage and it will be some time before it can attain sustainability and profitability. Ultimately, if the social enterprise can be profitable, it will mean that the work they do is self sustaining, which is a desired outcome for any organisation.
We believe in enabling and empowering, we work with our artists and beneficiaries in partnership. Due to the sensitive nature of Art Therapy, we are unable to have volunteers sit in or be a part of the clinical art psychotherapy sessions. Only certified art therapists can conduct art therapy sessions or workshops. Sometimes, we allow assistants to help out for art therapy workshops, which are not clinical in nature. However, most of the work that we do are clinical and therapeutic. Volunteerism is suggested for community art projects, which may not necessarily be Art Therapy, but apply the Art as Therapy approaches in the work we carry out. We suggest to join our Art for Good Community group, if you would like to be involved in our projects.
